What materials are used in ARICO bean bags?
The covers of our ARICO Bean Bags are made of 100% polyester fabric, 100% made of new materials. Imported at the request of Arico. The filling is made of high-density and high-quality expanded polystyrene beads, made in Canada.
Is it possible to buy just the cover for a bean bag?
Yes, you can order a new cover for your ARICO bean bag directly on our website or by visiting our showroom.
What are the safety recommendations for using your products? (WARNING!)
This product, although it can be considered a toy due to its appearance and comfort, contains polystyrene beads inside, which are not intended to be handled. Handling beads may present safety hazards.
Please read these recommendations carefully before using this product.
- Child Safety:
This product contains small sized polystyrene beads, carefully contained in a secure inner bag. The bag is accessible only via a zipper with a self-locking mechanism, which prevents accidental opening. To open it, a paper clip is required, ensuring safe handling.
On products intended for children (Junior Format), this self-locking closure ensures that it is impossible to open the zipper without a specific tool. However, for greater peace of mind, parents are recommended to check that the closure is secure before each use. This extra precaution allows you to guarantee the safety and comfort of your child.
- Safety precaution regarding the location of your Bean Bag
Exposure to heat and flames: Avoid placing your bean bag near heat sources, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames or any other source of ignition. It is also not recommended to smoke near this product.
Heated floors: Do not place this bean bag on a heated floor. Due to the waterproofness of the cover and the insulating properties of the polystyrene beads, the temperature inside the product could increase excessively. Do not let the temperature exceed 75°C.
- Contact with polystyrene balls: what to do?
Polystyrene beads are not dangerous in themselves, but it is important to take certain precautions in case of contact in the following situations:
Ingestion: Although polystyrene is not toxic, ingestion of beads can cause obstruction or choking hazards if swallowed in large quantities. If this happens, immediately rinse your mouth and drink water. Consult a doctor if necessary.
Skin irritation: Prolonged handling of beads can sometimes cause skin irritation. If irritation occurs, wash the affected area with mild soap and water. If irritation persists, consult a doctor.
Eye Contact: If polystyrene beads or dust come into contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with clean water or eye wash solution. If pain persists, consult a doctor.
- Responsible Recycling of Polystyrene Beads
Polystyrene beads are not soluble and should not be disposed of in wastewater. We encourage you to adopt a responsible approach by taking your product to an eco-center for proper recycling. Respect for the environment is one of our values, and we are counting on you to contribute to a more sustainable future.

Showroom
Do you have a showroom?
Yes, we have a showroom located directly in our factory at 1285 Rue des Ardennes, in Quebec. There you can discover our products in person, test our bean bags and benefit from the expertise of our team to advise you.
Can I buy your products at your showroom?
Yes, you can leave with your order directly from our showroom, because we have inventory available on all our models.
However, during periods of high demand, some models may be out of stock. To check availability, we advise you to contact our team at 418 455 9749. If the desired product is not in stock, it will be put into production as soon as possible.
What are your opening hours?
Our showroom is open from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m..

Shipping, Returns & Exchanges
Do you deliver across Canada?
We deliver everywhere in Canada, with the exception of the following regions:
- Yukon
- Northwest Territories
- Nunavut
We reserve the right to cancel an order if the destination is in a region not covered by our carriers.
If the destination is defined as a remote area, a surcharge may be offered to guarantee delivery to areas not covered, if the customer accepts this option.
Before any cancellation of an order, our team will contact you directly to discuss the different possible solutions available to you.
Is delivery free?
Yes, delivery is free everywhere in Canada, for all orders of $75 or more, on regular priced items.
What are your delivery options?
At Arico, we ship our products across Canada, using GLS Canada as our transportation partner. However, in case our provider does not cover specific regions, we also work with other carriers to ensure reliable delivery.
For our customers located in Quebec City, delivery is carried out directly by our team.
If you wish to avoid delivery delays, you have the option to select thein-store pickup option. This option offers you thepossibility to collect your order directly from our showroom and avoid the delivery timeto receive your order.
What are the delivery times ?
The processing of your order will be handled within 1 to 2 Business Days by our team.
Delivery times vary depending on the destination.
- Quebec and Ontario: 1 to 4 business days
- Other provinces: 5 to 10 business days
Promotional Periods :
Please note that during exceptional promotional periods (example: Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Boxing Day etc.) the volume of orders is much higher than usual. This may result in a delay of 1 to 5 additional working days for each order.
How to track my order ?
Order tracking:
When we process your order and it is ready for dispatch, you will receive an e-mail to the address you provided when ordering. This message will containa tracking number,with a linkallowing you to follow the progress of the delivery in real time.
Deliveries to Quebec:
For orders delivered to Quebec, our team will contact you directly by telephone to inform you of the exact delivery date.
In-store Pickup Option:
If you chose the "Store Pickup" option, you will also receive an email as soon as your order is ready for pickup.
Why does my delivery take longer during promotional periods?
During promotional periods, order volume increases significantly, which may result in longer than usual processing and delivery times. We make every effort to process and ship your orders as quickly as possible, but due to this high demand, delays may occur.
Why is there a delivery surcharge on my order during promotional periods?
During our promotional periods, with the exception of Quebec and Ontario, a delivery surcharge may be applied for orders shipped to other provinces of Canada. This surcharge specifically concerns two products: the Adult Lounge and the Adult Classic.
This is due to the size of the packages, which are considered oversized by our carrier. As a result, additional charges are directly applied to cover the cost of shipping these large items during promotional periods.
Returns & Exchanges
My bean bag has a manufacturing defect, can I return it?
We guarantee that all our products are delivered new and free from defects. If an item is defective or does not conform to the order, you can request an exchange or return within 10 days of receiving your order.
No return or exchange request will be accepted after this period.
Additional time may be granted during the holiday period.
To initiate a return, exchange or refund, contact us by email at sav@arico.ca or by phone at 418-455-9749, indicating your order number as well as the reason for your request.
The product i purchased does not suit me, can I get a refund after my purchase?
Yes, we accept refunds under certain conditions, but fees may apply depending on the circumstances:
- The products must be new, without defects, and in their original packaging.
- The delivery costs for the return are the responsibility of the customer and are not refundable. Please note that delivery costs can represent up to 30% of the order total depending on the region.
- Any refund request will be accepted only within 10 days of purchase.
- ARICO inc. will provide proof of delivery costs (out and back) upon request, for any re-invoicing.
- No return costs will be charged if the product is hand delivered to our manufacturer located at 1285 rue des Ardennes, G1N0A4 in Quebec.
- Products on promotion or purchased at a reduced price are considered final sale and cannot be returned or refunded.

Can I return a product that I purchased on sale?
No, Products on promotion or purchased at a reduced price are considered final sale and cannot be returned or refunded.
How long does it take to get my money back?
The refund is made once we have received and inspected the returned product. If it meets the conditions of our returns policy, a period of 5 business daysis required to process the refund. The latter will be made via the payment method used during the purchase.
Note that, depending on the banking institutions or the period (for example, during the holidays), the processing time may be longer.
Warranty
What is the warranty on Arico,s products?
Our Bean Bags as well as our ARICO accessories have a one year guarantee on the seams.
If anything that falls under normal use (see p.FAQ "normal use") comes to one of the seams before your warranty expires, contact us by telephone at 418-455-9749 or write to us at info@arico.ca. A member of our team will inform you of the procedure to follow.
** Take care to remove the interior net with the polystyrene balls before starting the process for our Bean Bag products.
What does “normal use” of our products means?
The ARICO guarantee applies to all its products, including bean bags, provided they are used under normal conditions.
By "normal use", we mean the use of the products in accordance with their intended use, that is to say as a seat or comfort element, in a suitable environment.
- Don't jump on the product
Avoid jumping on your bean bag to prevent damage and preserve its lifespan. - Avoid trampling the product regularly
Frequent trampling can damage the structure and reduce the longevity of your product. - Storage and protection in case of bad weather (ORIGINAL Collection)
Although our products are waterproof, we advise you to always store them indoors in case of bad weather conditions. Do not leave your bean bag outside permanently unattended. - Repair of broken products
If a product breaks, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Contact us immediately so we can assist you. - Do not use on heated floors
It is not recommended to use our bean bags on a heated floor, as this could alter their properties. - Precautions for use in mezzanine or solarium
The use of our bean bags in a mezzanine or solarium is not recommended. The combination of the insulating properties of polystyrene and the waterproofness of the covers can create an excessive interior temperature. It is therefore important to ventilate the products well, especially during hot days, by opening the bean bag. - Reduction of filling over time
Please note that the filling of your beanbag is elastic and with heavy use it may shrink over time. This is part of normal wear and tear. - Protect the product from sharp objects
Be careful of sharp objects such as nails, screws, scissors, animal claws, etc., which could damage the fabric or upholstery.
Even if your purchase is no longer covered by warranty or the problem was caused by your own use (e.g. moisture, burning, cuts, tears or other damage), please contact us.

How should i take care of my Bean bag?
Care instructions are specific to each product. Please see the care section of each item description for specific instructions.
Dry washing and tumble drying are strictly not recommended for all of our products, as they may damage the fabric."

How can I recycle my Bean Bag at the end of its life?
At ARICO, we attach great importance to our ecological footprint. This is why we encourage all our customers to drop off the inside of their bean bag at the end of its life at an ecocenter near you. Thus, we ensure that polystyrene beads are recycled and reused in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
In addition, to support your eco-responsible approach, our team offers a discount on your product refills. It is not necessary to throw away all the beads before refilling. You can reuse part of the interior and complete with a refill to restore your Bean Bag to all its comfort.
Why is my Bean Bag losing volume and how do I refill it?
The interior of your bean bag, filled with high-density expanded polystyrene beads, can actually experience a reduction in volume over time and with intensive use. This phenomenon is natural and concerns all products containing polystyrene beads, not just those from ARICO.
If you notice a reduction in comfort, it is entirely possible to recharge your ARICO bean bag by ordering a refill bag. Refills are available directly in each section of our online store.

Can I leave my bean bag outside at all times? (ORIGINAL COLLECTION ONLY)
Our Serenny, Paloma, and Sepia collections are specifically designed for indoor use only. For these models, we do not recommend exposing them outdoors, as this could affect the quality and durability of the product.
On the other hand, for the ORIGINAL Collection, although the fabrics are made of 100% high quality polyester, with characteristics such as waterproofing, flame retardant (non-flammable), water repellency and UV resistance, we recommend bringing your bean bag indoors during the winter, in case of rain, or when you are away. This precaution helps preserve the durability of the product and facilitates its maintenance.
Although our fabric is UV resistant, prolonged and continuous exposure to sunlight may result in fading over time. This does not compromise the durability of the product, but it is recommended to limit prolonged direct exposure to sunlight to preserve color intensity. Prolonged exposure to the sun, especially during extreme conditions such as heatwaves, can cause color to fade over time. This will not compromise the durability of the fabric, but fading may occur if the product is exposed to direct sunlight for too long.
We therefore advise you to limit prolonged exposure to the sun in order to maintain the appearance of your bean bag and extend its lifespan.
Why does my Lounge Junior bean bag has no zipper head?
This is neither an oversight nor an error on our part, but rather a security measure. The absence of a zipper head on our Lounge Junior model was designed to prevent children from having access to the polystyrene balls inside the bean bag. Although the beads are contained in an inner bag, by removing the zipper head, opening the bean bag becomes impossible, reducing the risk of access to the beads.
To open the zipper, simply insert a paper clip into the small hole in the slider, which serves as a "lock". It's a simple system, quick to use, and above all, it's easy to put a paperclip back in place if necessary, because we usually have one on hand!
Thus, this ingenious solution helps maintain child safety while providing a way to open and close the bean bag if necessary.
Is it normal that some of the polystyrene beads in my filling bag are black?
Yes, this is completely normal, and we'll explain why!
During the polystyrene manufacturing process in a factory, one of the last steps is to bag the micro beads. At this point, the beads are poured into large funnel-shaped vats. Due to the size of these tanks, not all beads are systematically sorted one by one at each stage.
The "black" polystyrene balls you find in your bag are actually a version of high density polystyrene, which makes them more insulating. These beads are therefore more durable than classic white beads, thus offering better longevity. However, they are also more expensive, and a bag filled only with these micro beads would provide lower comfort than we have chosen for our products, as we use a combination of beads optimized for comfort and durability.
What is the maximum weight that your Bean Bags can support?
Only our Bean Bag Classic Adult model can accommodate two people simultaneously. All other models (Classique Junior, Lounge Junior, Lounge Adulte, Cadet, as well as the round and square footstools) are designed for one person at a time. We recommend a maximum weight of 175 kg for all of our bean bag models.
It is important not to jump on our ARICO bean bags, especially when the ring and carabiner are attached to the back of the Classic Adult Bean Bag model.
