Our history

Where does the name "ARICO" come from? It’s directly linked to our product and our roots: the items we make are commonly called “bean bags,” and in French, they’re known as “sacs d’haricots” ;)

It all started in 2019 with the goal of creating ergonomic comfort for everyone. At first, we outsourced production, but we quickly realized the importance of taking control to express our creativity and ensure the level of quality we envisioned. In 2021, we took a major step by opening our own workshop — a decision that gave us full control over every step of the production process.

Since then, every ARICO product has been crafted with care and a commitment to quality. Our team is made up of local talent, allowing us to offer durable, long-lasting products. Yes, our costs are higher than many competitors, but each product is an investment in comfort and quality. These are our values, and we’re proud of them — we love what we do!

We are the only retailer in our field to be certified “Fabriqué au Québec.” That certification means more than just a label: it symbolizes our dedication to the community and to local expertise.

Today, ARICO is proud to see its products traveling across Canada, with respected partners and clients who share our vision of quality and “modern comfort.” Our products also make a meaningful impact in specific environments. For instance, our bean bags have played an important role in supporting the well-being of children with special needs, and we’ve become a trusted reference for schools and institutions — both public and private — who recognize their value.
